Galvanized steel structure for sales harbour

April 2011 – Lots of shipyards do not only build new boats, they sell used vessels as well. A new covered sales harbour where the boats for sale are moored has been built at a marina in Sneek. The steel structure of this sales harbour, which has a wide clear span and is erected over the water, has been hot-dip galvanized by Verzinkerij Heerhugowaard.

The covered sales harbour was commissioned by Brandsma Jachten in Sneek. As well as building new boats, this company also supplies additional facilities, products and services for water sports enthusiasts. Two covered boathouses for instance, have been built beside the marina where boats lie in open water, and now there is also a covered sales harbour for the boats that are for sale.

Durable roof

The steel structure of the sales harbour was produced and erected by welding and construction company Van den Berg in Joure. Van den Berg also supplied and fitted the roofing sheets and wall cladding. On account of the wide span of the steel structure, it was hot-dip galvanized by Verzinkerij Heerhugowaard in the biggest zinc bath in the Netherlands. The boats that are for sale now lie under a roof that is durably protected against all weathers.
